Hours in - 10a.m. - 4p.m. (6hrs total)
Job - Maker
10a.m. - 11a.m.
Group collectively settled on and sorted out the amount of MDF, ply-board and other wood necessary for the project, and had order placed.
12p.m. - 2p.m.
Group gathered all the flats to be used, and stripped off faces from the frames. Frames were partly glued and partly nailed (using a nail-gun) onto the frames so removal of the faces was simple.
Once all frames were clear of their faces, using a hammer we knocked down any nail heads that were standing proud of the frames.
Once all nails were knocked down, we then sanded down the frames using sand paper, and in some areas an electric sander was needed to remove tougher pieces of glue and ply left from the face.
We also went over the frames and removed any screws that were sticking out and could be a safety risk.
2p.m. - 3:30p.m.
We made a rough mock up of the game spinner, to test that the Lazy Susan bearing would work.
I drew a large circle on some of the scrap ply-board we had, using string and a pencil to get a more precise circle. then another student then took the board and cut it out, then using a drill me and another student drilled holes in the board to attach the bearing to the circle and another piece of ply board. The mock up worked and the bearing span smoothly.
3:30p.m. - 4p.m.
Took note of all frames that need fixing, and separated them into another pile, so that we can quickly fix them when screws have been bought, so that we are able to get the new faces on the boards quickly.
