Professional and Collaborative Practice - Statement of Intent (Learning Agreement)

In this unit I intend to take on a lead design role for the Five Acre School Medieval festival event. Whilst also working and responding to a designers ideas as a maker for the Maidstone TV production project, also helping where needed and when available for any other project requiring assistance.

I aim to improve my management skills by developing professional correspondence skills communicating with the ‘client’ to understand their wants and needs. Developing budgeting skills and fine-tune my Excel (spreadsheet) abilities. I hope to gain a better understanding of risk assessments and health and safety, and when and where it is appropriate and necessary to put these in place. I aim to refine my time management skills and better balance my work load between projects.

Practically I aim to develop my construction skills using a range of tools to acquaint myself with how they can be used to achieve set goals, as well as use a range of different materials to help build a better knowledge of their practical uses and how different materials can be used together. I aim to refine my scenic painting skills working on larger surfaces. I intend to improve my problem solving skills whilst working to the wants of others both under their instruction and my own initiative all the while working as a well-functioning team member.
